High school seniors are encouraged to apply for admission early in their senior year, and are accepted contingent upon receiving a diploma. A student who has completed high school or received an Equivalency Diploma (GED) may apply at any time. To file for admission, applicants must fill out an enrollment application and pay a non-refundable $50.00 fee.
To receive transfer credits, students must provide official transcripts from accredited post-secondary schools previously attended. It is the responsiblity of the applicant to secure an official transcript from the college(s) previously attended. All transcripts must be sent directly from the issuing institution to the Office of the Registrar at NYCI. At the discretion of NYCI, transfer credits may be granted for courses taken at other schools in which a grade of “C” or better was earned. Courses transferred must be applicable and equivalent to corresponding courses for which the student is seeking credit at the College.
Generally, students may not receive combined transfer and proficiency credits totalling more than 50% of the program for which they are enrolled.
Foreign students applying for admission must submit official secondary school transcripts as well as college transcripts, if applicable, with their applications.
